USDT on several blockchains: choosing the matching network before every transfer
Why the same stablecoin exists on different networks, how to match the network on the sending and receiving screens, and what to check with memos, test transfers and contract addresses.
Multiple exchanges | Russia | RUB | fees, access and account safety
A stablecoin like USDT is issued on several blockchains at once. On a withdrawal screen this appears as a list of networks, each with its own address format and processing note. Pick a network that the receiving side does not support and the coins may arrive nowhere useful, with recovery slow or impossible. The fix is a short routine performed on both screens before any money moves. It works the same way whether you use Binance, OKX, Bybit, Bitget or a private wallet.
Start on the receiving side
Always open the destination first. On an exchange, go to Deposit, pick USDT and view the list of supported networks; each produces its own address. On a self-custody wallet, check which chain the wallet account is using. Choose one network and copy the address shown for it. Doing it in this order means you only ever send on a network you have confirmed the receiver accepts.
Match the network name on the sending screen
On the sending platform, open Withdraw, choose USDT and select the same network by name. Names sometimes differ slightly between platforms, so compare the token standard mentioned beside it as well. Paste the address and check that the platform accepts its format; a red warning usually means a mismatch. Read the withdrawal fee and minimum amount shown on screen, because both vary by network and change over time.
Memos, tags and contract details
Some networks or receiving exchanges require a memo or tag in addition to the address. If the deposit page shows one, copy it into the matching field; leaving it empty can strand the funds in a shared account. When adding USDT to a self-custody wallet manually, compare the token contract address with the one listed by the issuer or the exchange deposit page, since fake tokens with the same name exist.
Send a small test first
For a new route, send a small amount and wait until it appears in the receiving history with the right network label. Only then send the rest. Save the transaction ID from the withdrawal record; with it you can look up the transfer on a block explorer for that chain and give support exact details if anything goes wrong.

Scenario checkpoint
- Open the receiving deposit page first and copy the address for one confirmed USDT network.
- Select the identical network on the withdrawal screen and compare the token standard shown beside it.
- Copy any memo or tag from the deposit page into the matching withdrawal field before sending.
- Send a small test on every new route and save the transaction ID from the withdrawal record.
